Good Citizen

Many Americans were relieved upon reading the news that a man suspected of planning to set off hand grenades at a Rockford mall has already been apprehended.

Derrick Shareef was already placed under surveillance since September when an acquaintance of his who knew of his plan tipped the FBI. He was finally arrested last Wednesday when he actually pushed through his plan by going through with the purchase or trade off of the hand grenades.

The person who was supposed to give him four hand grenades and a gun in exchange for a set of stereo speakers was an undercover agent.

It’s a good thing that Shareef’s acquaintance informed the FBI immediately upon learning of the former’s plan. Every American should do his duty of reporting anything suspicious to the authorities.

If you think that a neighbor of yours is planning to do something harmful, tell the authorities right away. If you’re reluctant to do such a thing without having a clue as to his background or character, then conduct an online criminal investigation. Every one of us has to do his or her share in protecting our nation from such abominable plans.
