Justice Delayed, But Hopefully Not Justice Denied

Justice finally caught up with a former sheriff’s deputy.

James Ford Seale, a former sheriff’s deputy in Mississippi, was recently arrested for allegedly taking part in the murder of two black men 43 years ago. He’s charged for kidnapping the two teenage black men who were then hitchhiking.

Many thought that Seale was already dead. Several inquiries were already made a few years ago as to his whereabouts. However, his family had always insisted that he was already dead. Fortunately, Canadian documentary filmmaker, David Ridgen, and Thomas Moore, found the accused near the site where the kidnappings took place in 1964.

Seale’s criminal records would have been almost blemish-free if not for the efforts of the two men and the older bother of one of the victims. Many are wondering though, why Seale was just charged for the two men’s kidnapping and not for their murder. Another suspect, Charles Marcus Edwards, was not charged.
